Premises Liability

Slip and fall accidents are also known as premises liability cases.  There are laws that govern the responsibility of a property owner.  It is the property owner's responsibility to keep their property reasonably safe.
Premises liability cases include accidents that take place due to the negligence of a property owner resulting in unsafe and dangerous conditions of the property.  Premises liability accidents can result from uneven floor surfaces, broken sidewalks, uneven elevators, broken steps, which results in a slip, trip or fall, dog bites, swimming pool accidents, and dangerous chemicals exposure.

Premise liability accidents often happen at public places such as shopping malls, hospitals, office buildings, housing complexes, parking garages, and restaurants but not limited to a friend or family member's home.  If a property owner is found to have been negligent, and their negligence caused an injury, the property owner is liable.
